Emma Chen wins 2021 Provost’s Graduate Student Teaching Award
On April 6th, it was announced that Emma Chen, one of my doctoral students, was awarded the 2021 Provost’s Award for Graduate Student Teaching at the University of Saskatchewan. Emma taught an undergraduate early childhood course in language and literacy in the Fall term and received great evaluations from her students.

On April 6th, my doctoral student Linda Young joined host Lyndon Linklater for a Virtual Fireside Chat at the Remai Modern Gallery in Saskatoon. Linda is currently one of the artists whose work is on display in the exhibition entitled, An Apology, A Pill, A Ritual, and a Resistance, running from March through June 2021
Introducing Dr. Belinda Daniels
On Tuesday, April 6th, one of my doctoral students, Belinda Daniels, successfully defended her doctoral dissertation, A Life Long Journey Home. Belinda’s doctoral work, presented in a manuscript-style dissertation of nine papers, shares her narrative beginnings, research, and renderings into nēhiyaw (Plains Cree, y dialect) epistemology, the main source of ancestral knowledge continuity in nēhiyaw people.
