Debbie pushor accepts the 2021 GSA Advising Excellence Award

Dr. Debbie Pushor was recently nominated for the 2021 Graduate Students’ Association (GSA) Advising Excellence Award. Debbie was thrilled to find that she had won the award.

“I am so humbled by this award! One of the greatest pleasures in my role as a professor is the privilege of working with graduate students. The students I ‘walk alongside’ become an integral part of my life and my family as we work together over a period of years. We become colleagues, friends, sisters as we move through the challenges and rewards, both personal and professional, of a master’s or a doctoral journey. I always feel I gain as much from each one of them as I contribute to their learning. While I expect a lot of my students, and I push them hard at times to realize their very best work and to shine, I love and support them fiercely too. They forever hold a place in my heart!,” said Debbie.
