Let’s talk parent Engagement

On Thursday, October 27th, at 6:30 pm EST, Debbie Pushor will be engaged in conversation with Theresa Pastore, Executive Director of Parents Engaged in Education. Join with them on Zoom as Theresa engaged with Debbie around the following questions:

1. What do you think the biggest challenges will be for school leaders to increase parent engagement during COVID?

2. What are the biggest opportunities that virtual outreach will present to those in school councils with respect to making sure that every parent/caregiver is engaged in their child’s education at home?

3.   What tips you can provide to school councils to help them to engage diverse families and be sure that the council best represents the makeup of the student body?

4. What are the benefits of having a diverse council?

5. With a split between in-person and virtual learning for students in the same school, what suggestions do you have on how to ensure that every parent is aware of updates and communications from the school/council when we can no longer rely on students bringing information home in their backpacks this year?

5. What can each person who has joined us this evening do to engage one other parent/caregiver and share the value of being involved in their children’s education?
